Once upon a time, there was Prometheus. Son of Titan and Oceanid. Prometheus was a god and was given powers to channel them into the world as he saw fit. He thus decided to become protector of the mankind and impart to them all the fervor and spirit for life.<\/p>\n
So, he gave them fire, helped them make tools, taught them the sciences and the arts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
This is when he lit the spark for every form of art, creation and spirit. A spark is just that! Anything that energizes you, rekindles and mobilizes the spirit; anything that provides all these stimuli to ignite more sparks so that the sparks become fire and fire can illuminate new and creative paths!<\/p>\n
Children are very much alike. They start with sparkling eyes and an eagerness for creation. All it takes is an opportunity, such as a word, a sound, an image, a taste or a movement that will ignite their spark and all this creative world that exists within them, taking over their dreams year after year! Because no child\u2019s dream is small, insignificant or impossible!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The non-profit organization “Spithes” was created with a single purpose:
to rekindle the spark in children!<\/p>\n
Using every form of art as a tool, we encourage children and teenagers to discover and cultivate their skills and talents. Through imagination and creative expression, we give them space to grow, solve problems, develop their thinking, and understand the world around them.<\/p>\n
We create inclusive activities that are suitable for all children, including those with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning disabilities. With respect and understanding, we create an environment where every child can participate equally, express themselves at their own pace, and feel that they belong.<\/p>\n
Through a dynamic team of educators and artists with passion, enthusiasm, and experience, children are introduced to a creative world that serves as a foundation for their development and their right to a better future.<\/p>\n
Because every child is unique and has the right to express themselves freely!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Psychomotor Education Coach | Special Education Specialist (ADHD) | Author<\/p>\n Dimitra Fotou was born in Volos, Greece, where she developed a lifelong passion for sports from an early age, with a particular love for tennis. Throughout her career, she has combined education, sport, and creative learning to support children’s holistic development.<\/span><\/p>\n She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and History of Art and has pursued studies in Painting, Coaching, and Sport Sciences. She also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education, with postgraduate specialization in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), focusing on inclusive education and contemporary teaching approaches that promote learning and the overall development of every child.<\/span><\/p>\n Dimitra works as an educator and psychomotor education coach, specializing in play-based learning and mini tennis instruction. She has extensive experience in designing and delivering innovative educational programs that integrate movement, culture, the arts, and experiential learning. Her work places particular emphasis on inclusion and the active participation of children with autism, ADHD, disabilities, and other special educational needs.<\/span><\/p>\n She has taught at the Hellenic Police Officers Academy, coach education programs, municipalities, and public organizations. She has also collaborated with educators, community organizations, and social institutions to develop initiatives that promote sport, culture, and inclusive education.<\/span><\/p>\n As a member of the <\/span>SPITHES<\/span><\/strong> team, Dimitra shares a vision of education that inspires, includes, and empowers every child to discover their potential through the joy of learning, play, and creative expression.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Creative Designer | Educational Program Designer & Communications Manager<\/p>\n Louiza Katsigianni is a creative designer and fashion professional, working as a sewing instructor, pattern maker, and founder of the <\/span>ELF Design<\/span><\/strong> brand. Her work is driven by the belief that creativity is a powerful way to celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of every person.<\/span><\/p>\n From an early age, she cultivated a strong passion for the arts through painting, crafts, and participation in creative workshops and artistic programs. Today, she uses art as a powerful medium for expression, communication, collaboration, and inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n Louiza has extensive experience in designing and creating theatrical costumes and stage sets, as well as developing and facilitating creative workshops for children and adults. Through activities such as crafting masks from recycled fabrics, designing animal-inspired bags, creating jewelry, and producing handmade objects from upcycled materials, she encourages imagination, creativity, and environmental awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n As a member of the <\/span>SPITHES<\/span><\/strong> team, she designs and delivers creative workshops and innovative educational programs that foster creativity, imagination, practical skills, collaboration, self-expression, and self-confidence for both children and adults.<\/span><\/p>\n Passionate about education and meaningful engagement with children, and actively involved in volunteer initiatives, Louiza promotes the values of inclusion, acceptance, sustainability, and creative learning through every project she undertakes.
