Writing, Playing, Creating. Creative Writing Seminar for children 8-13 years old

TETRAGONO bookstore and “Spithes”, the writer Elpida Minadaki and teacher Aggeliki Aggelopoulou, invite our young friends to the famous and further enriched creative writing seminar for children, for the sixth consecutive year!

An exciting journey through imagination, inspiration, creativity, writing, play and improvisation to enable the graduation of…Young Writers!

12 meetings based on the Creative Writing principles though theatrical practices, play and visual interventions. At the end of the seminar, all this is transformed into a mini book by the children themselves who are…the young writers! And this is just the beginning for a future…nomination in the field of Art and Literature.

Creative writing and theatrical education complement each other and enable all children to unfold their talents and skills.

The following will be taught:

  • Creative writing principles through theory and exercises,
  • Theatrical improvisation through play and movement,
  • Composing and writing a fairy tale with inspiration and guided imagination
  • Children themselves writing a mini book
  • (New!) “Developing my skills”

Why should I enroll my child in a creative writing seminar?

When the school life creates children-students who prefer break time than class, when the hours of study are long and often without the expected result, we need to revise some educational methods. With imagination and emphasis on creativity, the “Sparks” team undertakes to take our young students on a journey through the paths of creative writing.

Through easy and enjoyable activities, each child manages to capture in a story of their own their desires, worries and creative imagination. But the journey does not end here. Detecting their aptitudes and talents, they enter the beautiful world of creation and expression.
Then, the child is guided to put their thoughts and ideas into practice, by creating as a group a type of theatrical performance based on the story they wrote.

The significance of this successful approach will follow each child throughout their life.
They will discover themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, the value of “group-focused co-creation”, they will experiment in new ways of expression, they will discover their style and they will improve as a personality.

The workshop is ideal for children with dyslexia who love literature.

A certificate of attendance will be given.
